Learning Methodology

The courses are based on a conventional face-to-face setting blended with flexible online distance learning (ODL) which may include e-learning materials and/or supported with virtual video lecturing.

The self-directed virtual video learning will provide ready reference to help pick the  students up and get them back on track if they ever struggle along the way through our conventional face-to-face setting.

Academic Calendar

A standard academic calendar for aConventional Face-to-Face Learning with blended directed learning materials and video lecturing mode consists of three (3) semesters per year. Each semester credit hours may range from 9 credit hours to 20 credit hours per semester or about 30 credit hours to 50 credit hours per year.

A Glance at the Credit Hours System

A semester credit hour is the amount of credit a learner earns for successful completion of one contact hour and two preparation hours per week for a semester.

One (1) semester credit equals 14 formal contact hours per semester and 28 informal contact hours per semester (see NOTE).

NOTE:
  1. Formal contact learning hours comprise Face-to-face conventional learning, group viewing of video lecturing with participative group work and discussion, revision classes, and examination.
  2. Informal contact learning hours comprise directed e-learning, video lecturing, private study, exercises, and self-directed group discussion.
  3. If a course is 3 semester credits, the learning hours is 126 hours comprises:
    • 42 hours formal learning (14 formal contact hours X 3 semester credits)
    • 84 hours informal learning (28 informal contact hours X 3 semester credits)
Post-Graduate Programs  will be added in stages.
Programs

The Diploma in Accounting is coursework program designed for those students who have completed their SPM or equivalent entry qualification who wish to acquire the fundamental knowledge in accounting education.

Bachelor’s degrees (Honours) are coursework programs at foundation and fundamental knowledge with the next level of knowledge training in the selected concentration. Learning may include possible practical exposure through internship, and the assessment will be based on quizzes, discussion forum, assignment, mini-tests, projects, and/or examination.

Academic programs are based on a conventional face-to-face lecturing which may be blended with flexible e-learning materials supported with virtual video lecturing.

Once the students CLICKED to Programs COLUMN as shown above, students will be directed to the learning platform and will subsequently be given a learning path for the list of courses to be used as part of the blended learning.

Assessments

To submit your assessments, CLICK Assessments: 

Assessments comprises two stages:

  1. Assessments from Virtual Learning
    You are required to save all your completed assessments from Virtual Learning including those assessments that may be automatically marked through the online learning system (if any) and thereafter to UPLOAD as Attachment.
  2. Scheduling of Final Assessment
    Scheduling of Final Assessment will be arranged by the lecturer(s). Student are NOT required to SUBMIT this Scheduling of Final Assessment.
Appeal

To request for Recheck of Grade on final assessment, CLICK Appeal :

2. Final Appeal for Assessment Grade Recheck

The  appeal to check the final assessment answer script for any course must be done only in the first week of getting your result. Any change in the course grade as endorsed by the University is final. A payment of RM100.00 per course shall be imposed for the recheck.

*Only students with a Failed Grade Standing can appeal to their Respective Schools of the University. All cases must be appealed through LOG-IN online and complete the Appeal Form.

Learning Methodology

Professional Development Programs are taught based on flexible online distance learning (ODL) setting comprises e-learning materials and/or virtual video lecturing.

 A learning strategy which allows students to take charge of their own learning process or “Learning in which decision around what to learn, how to learn it, and how to decide if one has learned something well enough are all in the hands of learners” through our flexible ODL.

Academic Calendar

Admission is NOT based on calendar basis rather on an ongoing continuous basis throughout the year. The classification of intakes into January, May and September is to provide students with self directed learning plan and learning direction on their time-conscious schedule in completing the courses within the respective intake.

A Glance at the Credit Hours System

Semester credit system is NOT used, instead programs are based on the number of modules/courses

JANUARY

Application received in October to January will be placed in January Intake

MAY

Application received in February to May will be placed in May Intake

SEPTEMBER

Application received in June to September will be placed in September Intake

Completion in the respective Intake

Completion month to LOG-IN for your Final Assessment should be in APRIL for January Intake.

Completion month to LOG-IN for your Final Assessment should be in AUGUST for May Intake.

Completion month to LOG-IN for your Final Assessment should be in December for September Intake.

Additional Post-Graduate Programs including Professional Doctor of Business Administration will be added in stages.
Programs

The Professional Diplomas are coursework program designed for those who may wish to acquire or refresh the foundation and fundamental knowledge in business or accounting education.

Professional
bachelor’s degrees are coursework programs designed for those who have prior foundation and fundamental knowledge in the selected field of studies at diploma level or have prior knowledge achieved through Recognition of Prior Professional Experiential Learning and wish to enhance their next level of the selected concentration.

Professional master’s degrees are coursework programs designed to prepare graduates for career in business/accounting.

Students will be informed of the date/time for the  Final Assessment according to the INTAKE period for Scheduling of FINAL ASSESSMENT and will only be applicable for Online Self-Directed Learning mode. However, certain courses may not have final assessment depending on the level and extensive requirement of continuous assessment incorporated into the Virtual Learning Contents.
